Pick one of eight gloriously eccentric aristocrats and spend a day's driven shooting on the Bunting Estate, trying to outshoot three rival Guns while the keeper shouts at all of you. Lead your birds, mind your manners, and do try not to embarrass the family.
Draw your peg from the silver case, take up your gun and shoot through three drives: a misty lakeside at dawn below the Hall, a Highland loch beneath a ruined castle, and an abbey flight pond at sunset. Your loader swaps you a fresh gun after both barrels, the labradors fetch the bag, and the Game Book keeps score until the final reckoning at the Shooting Lunch.
Every Gun natters away in a fruity British accent: Sir Bunny bellows for Jenkins, the Dowager demands a sloe gin, and the keeper roars "Low bird, sir!" at anyone who forgets their manners.
How to play
A day's shooting is three 90-second drives against three rival Guns. Birds are flushed towards the line; shoot them in the air for points, then the dogs bring in the bag and the Game Book tallies the drive. Whoever has the most points at the Shooting Lunch wins the day.
- Press Begin the Day and choose your Gun from the eight portraits
- Draw a peg from the silver case; you move up two after every drive
- Press Guns Ready, then aim ahead of each bird: shot takes time to arrive
- After both barrels your loader hands you a fresh gun (or call for it early)
- Fill the meter with hits, then fire off your character's ability
- Never shoot a bird below 9 degrees, and never swing through the line towards another Gun: both cost points
- The heaviest single bird of the day earns a 100-point prize
- New to it? Tick Aiming Guides on the title screen for lead rings on every bird
The Guns
Each aristocrat brings their own gun, loader and party trick. Lord Peregrine's Steady Nerves slow time to a stately crawl. Lady Araminta's Hawkeye reveals every bird's flight path. Sir Bunny's loader Jenkins is the fastest in the county. The Dowager Duchess scores double on geese with her 10-bore. The Hon. Rupert builds a show-off combo, the Colonel bellows a covey of partridges over his own peg, Clemmie's featherweight 28-bore glides onto birds, and Lord Humphrey's duck call brings the wildfowl in.
The quarry
Pheasant, partridge, mallard, woodcock and Canada geese, each worth different points. Keep an eye out for Old Tom, a legendary bird worth more than any other.
